Music Scholarship (Junior & Senior)

STUDENTS

The St Augustine’s Music Scholarship is the major music scholarship offered to Year 7 (Junior) and Year 10 (Senior) students. It covers the recipients’ tuition and music fees, while enrolled at St Augustine’s College, until the end of the three years, subject to meeting the scholarship’s requirements and satisfactory progress each year. It is awarded based on school reports, an audition and an interview.

Conditions of Music Scholarship

1. If 100% scholarship awarded, full academic fees plus instrumental tuition on the main instrument paid (30 min lesson weekly). Additional instrument lesson fees are the responsibility of the family.

2. If 50% scholarship awarded, half academic fees plus instrumental tuition on main instrument paid (30 mins lesson weekly). Additional instrument lesson fees are the responsibility of the family.

3. Must play/sing in any College ensembles/events as directed. This includes exemplary attendance, attitude, behaviour and effort. Failure to do so results in withdrawal of scholarship.

4. Must study classroom music as an elective from Years 7-12. This includes maintaining a B average with exemplary attendance, attitude, behaviour and effort. Failure to do so results in withdrawal of scholarship.

5. Student must commit to developing their instrumental playing through regular practice and performance as well as maintaining a high standard of academic performance and behaviour in all subjects within the College.

6. The scholarship is available for Years 7-9 and 10-12. To maintain the scholarship from junior to senior years, students must pass a satisfactory audition and maintain an excellent record during their junior scholarship period.

7. Scholarships are reviewed annually.
