Leadership Team
Originally from the ACT, Glen’s teaching career spans 25 years. He has a wealth of experience in Marist education having graduated from Marist Canberra and then returning years later as Dean of Mark House. Previously he was at MacKillop Catholic College in Canberra for 11 years and worked in boarding at Orwell Park school in the UK for two years.
Glen works closely with the teaching staff at St Augustine's College to ensure the smooth running of daily programs. His personable nature and approachability have enabled Glen to build strong relationships with staff. His experience is complemented by a recently completed Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.
Outside school, Glen is heavily involved in sport, particularly hockey. He has coached ACT and Cairns representative sides and his three daughters who are all eager players. The family moved here for a short stay in 2014 but have made Cairns and Saints home.
Frazer has worked in secondary schools in Victoria and Queensland and has over 28 years of teaching and leadership experience in Catholic schools. He is passionate about fostering an educational environment for boys with wellbeing at its heart here at St Augustine’s College.
Frazer believes that for a student to achieve his personal best he must be part of a community that supports and celebrates one another. Frazer is focused on nurturing a relationship-centred environment where students, parents and staff work in partnership to support the learning and growth of each Saints man.
An Old Boy of St Augustine’s, Heath returned to teach in 2015. He values the well-being of, and being supportive of, staff and students alike. He believes this is essential for maintaining a healthy and productive College.
Heath is passionate about health literacy and language, and enjoys promoting and teaching Japanese, and Health and PE subjects. His other involvement within the College is the coach of the First XI Cricket Team and as a Student Protection Officer.
Outside school, Heath enjoys camping and travelling with his young family, and playing touch football and golf.
With a teaching career spanning nearly 30 years across three continents, Lance has worked in a variety of secondary schools and colleges. In Queensland, he has enjoyed working in three different dioceses teaching various senior subjects, specialising in English and religious education.
Since 2012, Lance has held senior leadership positions in administration and pastoral care, before moving into curriculum. Lance is excited about the changes in curriculum, especially the QCE system that should prove to be more equitable for students.
Beyond school, he has been involved with the performing arts, playing lead roles in Peter Shaffer’s Amadeus and Ben Elton’s Popcorn as well as other stage and dance productions. Lance enjoys holidays abroad, travelling overseas with his wife as often as possible.
Brett has been a staff member at the College since 2008 and has worked in a variety of roles, including Year 8 and 9 head of year, director of mission, head of sport, and a physical education and religious education teacher. He is committed to student wellbeing and has a passion for the pastoral area of student formation in schools. He works collaboratively with his professional and dedicated boarding team to ensure that boarding at Saints is enjoyable and fulfilling while providing exceptional care for those who call St Augstine's their home away from home.
As a former Marist student and the local coordinator for the Marist Association group, Brett embraces the Marist charism. He brings passion and energy to his role and aims to ensure that the students under his care approach the daily life of boarding with a strong sense of family spirit.
Brett and his family enjoy the lifestyle that encompasses the role of Head of Boarding here at Saints.
Christine was born in Cairns and attended local Catholic schools before going away to complete tertiary study. She gained her science degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Queensland and has recently taken up study again with the Australian Catholic University.
Christine has been teaching religion, maths and science for 19 years and has held various middle leadership roles. Her passion for mission and outreach, boys education and student leadership led her to Saints. She is proud to be part of the St Augustine’s family that delivers a quality education built on tradition and Marist characteristics.
In her spare time, Christine enjoys being in nature and takes advantage of the outdoor freedoms that Cairns offers by camping, fishing and water skiing with her family.
