Health & Wellbeing Centre
St Augustine’s modern Health and Wellbeing Centre provides holistic care for our day students, staff and boarders.
The centre includes a state of art health clinic; incorporating nursing, counselling and chaplaincy. A welcoming and inclusive environment, the Health and Wellbeing Cenre is just one part of the College’s physical, spiritual and emotional health of our day and boarding students. The 10-bed infirmary, one of which is an isolation room; has all the necessary medical equipment to provide care for students and staff.
A registered Nurse (RN) is available Monday to Friday from 7:00am until 3:30pm and out of hours the Registered Nurse remains on call with assistance from a live-in first aid officer and the boarding supervisor. The RN works in close collaboration with the College counsellor and chaplain to provide for holistic care of both students and staff. A close relationship is maintained with a local medical centre to provide continuity of care for students, and a doctor attends the Health and Wellbeing Centre once a week for boarders.
The College chaplain attends St Augustine's regularly, and presides over major College liturgies; and is available for the spiritual needs of the College community.
Our holistic approach to healthcare has helped create a family atmosphere for all involved, especially our boarding families; a peaceful place where its caregivers offer a healing hand and a listening ear to all in the Saints community.
