Years 11 & 12
The Years 11 and 12 program at Saints provides students with opportunities for greater independence and responsibility, as they commit themselves to an appropriate studies program that is consistent with their skills, interests and aspirations.
Our senior students take increasing responsibility in their role as leaders of their own learning, enhancing their strengths and resilience as they encounter unknown and challenging situations.
At Saints, students choose seven subjects from key study areas, which are completed over two years. Three are core mandatory subjects:
- Religion: Catholic Faith in Action/ Religion and Ethics/ Study of Religion
- English: English, English Literature or Essential English
- Mathematics: General Mathematics/ Mathematical Methods/ Essential Mathematics
The remaining four subjects are chosen from general subjects, applied subjects and VET certificate courses all approved by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA). Subjects selected must have been approved by parents during the senior education and training (SET) planning interview process in Year 10.
Should students wish to change subjects, they can do so at different stages in Year 11, though they are restricted to the choices available on the timetabled lines. The following subjects are offered each year, though some subjects are dependent on student numbers:

We acknowledge the First Nations peoples of Australia, the traditional custodians of the land, seas, skies and waterways on which we reside, work, travel and meet. We pay our respect to First Nations elders past, present, and emerging, and support the Uluru Statement From The Heart. We acknowledge that the land, seas, skies and waterways of Australia were, are and always will be, that of the First Nations peoples.
